Catering and Sales Specialist (Cold Sales and Community Relationship Builder)

Part-time | Flexible schedule | Los Angeles (serving 4 Nothing Bundt Cakes locations)

If the idea of walking into 10 offices a day sounds exhausting, this is not your job. If it sounds like a game you can win, keep reading.

How to Apply

Submit your resume and a cover letter answering these 3 questions:

What is your outside sales experience and what did you sell?
Why does this role excite you more than your current sales job?
Tell us about a time you turned a cold introduction into repeat business. What was your approach?

You know the drill: cold outreach, awkward drop-ins, chasing quotas that feel disconnected from real value. You can do it, you have done it, and you are good at it.

But you want more than commissions and dashboards.

You want:

More face-to-face time and less screen time
A product that actually makes people smile
A flexible schedule that fits real life
A role where relationships matter and you are treated like a human
A community where people are genuinely happy to see you walk in

That is exactly what this role is.

The Mission

At Nothing Bundt Cakes, our mission is simple:

Celebrate every date, not just the holidays. To make bad days better and good days great. To make happier happen again, and again. We’re on a mission to make the world a sweeter place.

We are hiring a Catering and Sales Specialist, internally referred to as a Joy Genie: an outgoing, relationship-driven outside sales pro who brings “Bites of Joy” cake samples into local businesses, schools, government agencies, and community organizations - and turns those visits into recurring monthly orders.

This is not a sit-behind-a-phone sales job.

This is a walk in, light up the room, build trust, and create repeat business role.

The Story You Are Stepping Into

Local offices and organizations want easy ways to celebrate:

birthdays
employee appreciation
team milestones
client gifting
holidays
onboarding and farewells

But they do not have time to plan it. Vendors are forgettable. Options are generic.

Your job is to become the person they call every month.
You are not “dropping off cake.”

You are creating a celebration system they can count on.

What Winning Looks Like

You build a book of business that produces recurring monthly orders from:

offices and corporate teams
schools and PTAs
city and county departments
healthcare offices
real estate and mortgage teams
local service businesses with lots of staff and lots of celebrations

Over time, you become the recognizable face people love: the “cake celebrity” who brings joy and makes everyone’s day better.

Your Role (How You Create Results)

You will:

Prospect in the field: identify and visit target organizations within assigned areas
Deliver “Bites of Joy” samples to spark conversations and create immediate goodwill
Collect orders for future delivery (individual and office orders)
Set up recurring programs (monthly Bundtini/Bundtlet drops, celebration calendars, standing orders)
Develop strategic partnerships (HR managers, office admins, principals, executive assistants, community leaders)
Identify big moments: holidays, client gifts, employee appreciation, onboarding, seasonal celebrations
Track relationships and follow-up: consistent touchpoints that turn first orders into habitual ones
Represent the brand in the community with warmth, professionalism, and integrity

This Job Is Perfect For You If…

You are:

An experienced outside sales person who is comfortable initiating relationships from scratch
The kind of person who can walk into an office cold and leave with smiles, contacts, and momentum
Self-directed and organized: you do not need constant supervision to perform
Excited by relationship-based selling and long-term accounts
Energized by being out in the world, meeting people, and being known locally
Proud to represent something that genuinely improves someone’s day

This Job Is Not For You If…

Please do not apply if:

You need warm leads handed to you
You dislike cold visits or being told “no”
You cannot manage your time without strict structure
You prefer phone-only or screen-only sales
You want a transactional, one-and-done sales role (this is built on follow-up and consistency)

Our Core Values (How We Show Up)

We hire and promote based on these values:

Servant’s Heart: we give more than is asked
Genuine Connections: we draw connections with warmth and energy
Spirit of a Champion: we have a passion to win
Humble: confidence without ego
Hungry: self-motivated, proactive, driven
Socially Smart: emotionally aware, professional, and people-first

If those values sound like you, you will thrive here.

Why You Will Love This Role

You will get:

Part-time hours
Flexible scheduling (ideal for parents and anyone building life around work, not the other way around)
A product people love: you will never feel like you are pushing something questionable
A brand that makes you instantly welcome: cake is a conversation starter everywhere
Real pride in your work: you are helping local teams celebrate and connect
A chance to make a meaningful impact on a growing small business in Los Angeles

What We Expect (Non-Negotiables)

You have:

Proven outside sales or community relationship experience
Reliable transportation and willingness to be on the move daily
Comfort carrying samples and walking into offices and organizations
Strong communication and follow-up habits
A warm, professional presence that builds trust quickly

Compensation

Compensation will be $30.00-$32.00/hr, based on experience.

If you are the right fit, you will be invited to an interview and may be asked to do a short “field scenario” (how you would approach a target office and convert it into a recurring monthly order).
