About the Role:
The Catering Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the revenue growth and market presence of our hospitality services by managing and expanding catering sales operations. This position requires a strategic approach to identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and delivering tailored catering solutions that meet diverse customer needs. The manager will oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation, ensuring alignment with the company’s revenue and budgetary goals. Collaboration with internal teams such as operations, marketing, and finance is essential to optimize service delivery and maximize profitability. Ultimately, the Catering Sales Manager will be instrumental in enhancing customer satisfaction and establishing the company as a preferred catering provider within the competitive hospitality industry in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in hotel or hospitality sales, specifically in catering or event sales.
- Proficiency in Opera property management system and computer accounting programs.
- Strong knowledge of revenue management, yield management, and budgetary analytical techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certification in Hospitality or Revenue Management.
- Experience working in a multi-property hotel environment or large-scale catering operations.
- Familiarity with CRM software and advanced data analytics tools.
- Demonstrated success in developing and leading sales teams.
- Additional language skills relevant to diverse client bases.
Responsibilities:
- Execute strategic sales plans targeting Wedding, Social, Day Programs, and special event catering segments.
- Deliver a high-quality guest experience through communication of event details to the operation through accurate and timely BEO creation and distribution. Ensuring the customers’ expectations are clear.
- Act as on-site customer point person to coordinate event details with the banquet and operations teams executing the details
- Prospect and generate new leads to expand the client base across various catering market segments.
- Cultivate and deepen client relationships, understanding unique catering requirements and preferences.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities within the catering industry: especially Weddings
- Collaboratively work with the marketing team to develop segment-specific promotional campaigns and materials.
- Represent the resort at key industry events and trade shows, focusing on networking and building connections.
- Liaise closely with culinary and event planning teams to ensure a cohesive and seamless service delivery aligned with client expectations.
- Track and analyze catering sales performance, providing regular reports to the Director of Sales & Catering
